This is one of the grand galaxies of the Local Group, a sister galaxy of our own Milky Way Galaxy. This is the Triangulum Galaxy, or Messier 33, in the constellation Triangulum. It is 2.7 million light years from Earth, has a diameter of 60,000 light years, and hosts about 40 billion stars. This about 1\/10th of the number of stars in our Milky Way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Again, this is one of our first-light images with a total of 8 hours of exposure time in luminance (L), red (R), green (G), and blue (B) filters. This is definitely a target to revisit with some more data…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
